Soap bubble bokeh

Looking through a few internet pages recently, there is a good following for "soap bubble bokeh" demonstrated here. The lens of choice for this seems to be the Meyer-Optic Trioplan, good quality examples of this lens sell at £300 - £500 or more!

A few weeks ago I blipped a newly acquired selection of standard lenses, one of which was a Russian Helios 44-M. I had the intention of reversing the front element, but it proved awkward with that lens, so instead I reversed the rear element.

It has given me a lens that focuses from about 12" to no more than 3 - 4 feet, but with the best soap bubble bokeh I've seen - and all for £5.99.
