bargaining with the inherited past

Some things in the box of old toy wheelèd vehicles which is now in my loft rather than my parents' are more familiar than others. I assume that this was neither new for me or my sister but haven't properly checked which parent it came from. This was today's award in the ongoing completed-toothbrushing-sticker-chart-exchange process, retrieved during a rare daylight loft-visit such as can only occur at weekends at the moment. A few other bits for future awards have been earmarked, including a few smaller and plastickier things (like last week's combine harvester) for when there are one or two small stickers on the chart, denoting a limited quantity of nonsense instead of compliant opening of mouth.
