Time Marches On

Sadly the Frasers store at the west end of Princes Street is no more but the famous clock remains.

The department store opened in 1953 after the building was acquired from the Binns Group.

The location, known as Binns Corner, became a popular meeting point for people in Edinburgh in the 50s. As a result, in 1960 the building had its clock added to the facade.

The store closed a few weeks ago. I hope that whoever buys the building will keep the clock.
