What struck my fancy

Awaiting the tide

Saturday afternoon and the fishing fleet is at rest, in an orderly queue. The tide is still ebbing.

The extra shows the view towards the tidal river (Great Ouse) which flows off to the right to the Wash and North Sea, due north.

If you notice the detail of the boat labelling, their originating port is signified by the first and last letters, LN from King's Lynn, and MT from Maryport which is in northwest England.

The adjacent buildings are where the harvested shellfish are processed.
