The Dementia Darnings

I have never seen an art exhibition elicit such emotion.
Jenni Dutton’s record, on display at Harrogate Knitting and Stitching Show and made over several years, depicts her mum’s decline into dementia. It was beautiful, if heart breaking and moved many to tears.
Some recognised their own mothers or grandmothers in the works, which are wool stitched onto sheer fabric. My favourite was the one with loose threads representing her gradual loss of memory...
