Thankful for the rain - no need to water, and instead spent my time deadheading roses which had been battered in the storm.  Took me an hour and I didn't get anywhere near finished. 

It occurs to me that deadheading is a bit like housework; no sooner have you done it, than it needs doing again - and no-one ever notices.
