Chase Compilation

Today was our last time for taking our monthly pictures of Cannock Chase. Just like a year ago when we started, it was cold and icy. I really enjoyed the walk.

We stopped at an old tree trunk where people leave food for the wildlife. Alan emptited an old film canister of bird food there. As he did a nuthatch watched, and immediately came down to eat. I couldn't choose which image to Blip, so I've done a complilation (better viewed large). A wood pigeon waited his turn for a change. A coal tit showed the white patch on the back of his neck. The squirrel was very cool and ate as much as he wanted. A pair of nuthatches came and went quite a few times.

We also saw a deer. He too was quite cool, seemingly thinking we were too far away to be a threat. He seemed to have one doe with him.

All along the road between Rugeley and Milford the river had flooded and frozen. It was quite a wintry sight. As we drove down the hill at Hopwas the whole of Tamworth was swallowed up by fog! It took us by surprise after such a clear and frosty day walking.
