Empty, dry, no fishing in the Hughenden Stream

Spent the morning at Hughenden, a National Trust property near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

The sun came out so we had a good walk and passed by this sign, No Fishing. Apparently the stream is often dry as the underlying chalk allows the rainwater to drain away quickly.

Good lunch in the café !

"Hughenden offers a vivid insight into the charismatic personality and colourful private life of the most unlikely Victorian Prime Minister, Benjamin Disraeli, who lived here from 1848 to 1881. You can browse among an extraordinary collection of personal memorabilia in rooms on the ground and first floor, and there's even a Victorian playroom for younger visitors." (from the NT website)
