Luis the Weaver

Luis has been a weaver for many, many years. His looms and all necessary equipment are in the compound where we live. Preparing the yarn and warping the loom is a very long process, and today I was lucky to be passing by when he was winding the cotton yarn onto a tall frame that rotates. He pushes the frame to rotate it as he guides the yarns with his other hand. This organizes all the yarns so they can be attached and threaded onto the loom. He weaves mostly bedspreads and curtain fabrics.
