More Spring cleaning

...and weather to match. Bright sunshine then torrential rain and 22 sticky degrees while I “attacked” our two bookcases in the day room. They’re floor to ceiling and about 1.3 metres wide and every book and ornament was removed, washed or dusted and replaced if it was deemed worthy of a place and I have a pile of books ready for the op shop after heaving a goodly number directly into the bin!
I’m a bit spent! It took me all day!
The set of blue Dickens ‘ complete works were given to my Dad on his 21st birthday in 1934 when he was still living with his father and stepmother at Holland House in Kensington where my grandfather was chauffeur to Lord and Lady Ilchester.
