ESE Wind

6.7C dull morning, rainy afternoon. ESE wind to 40 mph with gusts to 57 mph.

Fergus and I went for our walk at 12 noon to try to avoid the forecast rain. We went round to the harbour. Ocean Pride is back. Berthed on the inside of the new quay. The wind turbine sections were delivered to the quay last night. No attempt has been made to load them. On the linkspan, or outer, side of the new quay CEG Universe was berthed to take on wood. There was no sign of loading. The sea was being driven up the length of the loch by the ENE wind and the outer side of the new quay and CEG Universe were taking quite a pounding. The winds are forecast to last until Wednesday night.

We walked out to the end of the park on the shore side path. Fergus got splashed a few times as the waves ran up the sea wall and 'overtopped'. We turned before we got to the cemetery and walking back on the street side of the park was easier with the wind behind us. We came home through town passing the town hall and the bookshop (open). The rain was just starting as we were arriving home.
