Our goldie girl

This picture was taken a couple of years ago, when our Russet was fit and full of energy.
We had to say goodbye to her today, as she could struggle no longer. The vet, whom she has known her all her life, came this morning , wonderfully kind and understanding, and we were with her as she slipped away peacefully.
We feel very sad and bereft, missing her, although we know she is no longer in any pain.  Goodnight, our dear Russet.
