The dropped stitch

Noticing this embroidery, stitched by her mother in the '20s, led to a fascinating conversation with L.
Designed by the Scottish embroiderer, Dorothy Angus, the patterns for this panel were available in the Press and Journal paper, week by week. There was then a competition to judge the finished pieces.
L' s mum didn't win a prize, but her work (this, and many other projects) has been treasured and enjoyed by the family all these years.
