Bridgewater Place...

November trip, backblip 1

...viewed from Leeds Station. Nicknamed 'The Dalek', it's an office and residential skyscraper and, apparently the tallest building in Yorkshire. (Though Emley Moor transmission mast, just 13 miles away from Bridgewater Place, is the tallest structure in the UK.)

An early start, some last-minute packing, then MrM drove us down to Leeds, where he dropped me off to see Tom, Lucy and Jake. He was on his way to a traditional Irish music festival in Birmingham.

After picking up tickets from Leeds station, I went in to the city centre to try and find some shoes to replace those that disintegrated (due to old age) last year. Success - and thanks to Black Friday they were somewhat cheaper than anticipated. Chanced upon a friendly little cafe in Queens Arcade, and enjoyed a coffee while waiting for Lu. When she arrived we also sampled the house red - it would have been rude not to! Then we took the bus to Jake's house for a meal of piquant home-made curry, then a film (Edie) before bed. A nice relaxing evening.
