The Wizard of OZ

It's just like they always say, "If you've seen the movie, you ought to read the book."
We bought this volume to have here for when our grandchildren visit. But I can tell you that it's most like the movie only in it's name. And the illustrations are wonderful. Just look at the cover picture. The lion is HUGE but his eyes are full of fear, the tin woodsman doesn't really have eyes but his cheeks are covered with tears and he's sure to rust from the workings of his own insides, Dorthy is resolved to do what she must to return home but she's not confidant in the path she's chosen, and the poor brainless scarecrow is the only one of the bunch who's leaning forward as he walks because he's just excited to be going anywhere.

I'm really looking forward to sharing this with my grand-kids.
