Wild geese

Every season brings its own joys. The wild geese have arrived in their 1000s from their summer breeding grounds in Iceland. In the early morning and late afternoon the sky is full of skeins honking their way between roosting sites and feeding grounds. This small flock, or is it a gaggle, is at breakfast, methodically moving through the stubble, between the bales of straw, seeking spilled grain.
