Cave In Jupiter

Cave In 'Jupiter' (Chrome Saint Magnus/Hydra Head Records, 2000)

XScottX would rave about Cave In's first LP, 'Until your Heart Stops', and it was lauded by the metalcore scene. So it was with great expectations that I went to see them at the Barfly.

They were rubbish. Despite that I still bought their second offering 'Jupiter'.
It's truly awful; spacey eastern scales are mixed with Muse and Placebo influences. They're one of those bands who claim to be influenced by Radiohead. The vocals hideously remind me of Manic Street Preachers. 'You're so lucky to be alive!' wails Stephen Brodsky. I really don't feel that way when I listen to this. Utter crap.

Peace
