The River Dee at Ballater

It is nearly three years since the River Dee flooded Ballater.
I took this today standing at the water’s edge. At the time of flooding the river level peaked at 3.6 metres above this point and residential caravans were being carried along at speeds above 20 m.p.h.

Much of the damage has been repaired and the River Dee actually increased the width by washing away the banks.
