Looking forward to hearing Sir Chris with daughter number 1 after illness meant he missed his planned visit to Glasgow in the Spring. My first experience of his exploits was when he climbed the Eiger north face then later in Orkney The Old Man of Hoy live on b/wTV in our living rooms in 1967 . After succesful expedition to Annapurna he lead the 1975 Everest expedition by the arduous south west face ("The Hard Way") with Dougal Haston and Doug Scott reaching the summit and bivouacking oxygenless at 28,700 feet their "night out in China".
