Rain

while I carried on moving furniture and sorting things to offer a charity shop. Mostly very dusty books which I bought years ago feeling worthy but really don't want ever to read. I will keep on my shelves only books that I actively want to read or refer to, or that I recommend to guests.

I hadn't expected to find myself throwing out a sense of duty and guilt along with the books. It's quite exhilarating. 

We also had delivered an uncharacteristically large TV. I don't watch TV but I intend to spend my dotage not only reading but also watching all the films I regret missing over the last 30 years. 

I want my dotage to start now.
