Night running

After the club's awards dinner last night (none for us) we were home fairly early as there was to be a busy Sat evening - competing in the Nocturnal Ultra near Dunbar.
This event involves running 5K laps through woods, fields and tracks from 4pm - 10pm. It can be done solo or in teams of 3 and our club had 4 teams and 2 solo entries. It was a great event and very sociable as people were constantly in and out as their stint ended and you would see them out on the course. Some of the trees were lit up (multicolours, not just blue) - though for nearly an hour there was a power cut which effected them and the music being played in a barn we had to run through and round some straw bales.
The ground was very muddy on the tracks but pleasantly soft in the woods and we had the bonus of reflections like this in the watersports area and a firework display to mark the end (though if we were running that lap counted to the total).
Our mixed team were first, the men's 6th and 8th and my team (all women) 8th/26 female teams (and 50th overall). I would do it again.
