Sunday

It has been a bit of a weekend.

My daughter decided to turn up yesterday morning having had a busy few weeks and wanted to see her mum and dad. We were delighted to see her. One of her gripes was being fed up with "shmoosing celebrity tw*ts!"

She lives close to her cousin whose house was burgled during the night sometime last week. My niece was woken by the cat going berserk thus getting up and disturbing an intruder who got away with a wallet and laptop.

Florence was home alone on Friday night and was woken by loud noises. Immediately, she thought "burglar".  She put on the lights and made her own noise in the hope of disturbing them. She was very frightened and nothing more happened. So Saturday morning she decided to come home.

Sunday; we had a lovely morning and picked up M-in-L and brought her home. She and Florence listened to music and chatted, I cooked and Clive put Christmas lights outside. Then Florence got a call to say their house had been burgled overnight!

Our happy Sunday lunch was marred. Florence was in tears. M-in-L was stuck in a cycle of repetitive questions on the subject and Clive was worried about letting F go back home.

Of course, Florence went back to London asap and then we took M-in-L back to her respite home.

Once peace reigned again, we thought, "Sod it" and ate the Christmas pudding.
