Legion

A woodland walk with a difference!

Rough Castle Experiences are presenting their first event, called Legion, in Rough Castle Community Woodland at the moment. Starting from above the Falkirk Wheel after nightfall, one travels back in time to be introduced first of all to some Roman soldiers guarding the nearby Antonine Wall.

As one follows the waymarked path, one learns about the history of life on the Wall from other Romans stationed there, before one leaves their 'protection' and steps into the territory controlled by the native Picts. The multi-sensory experiences continue through various encounters with the Picts, giving everyone the opportunity to see both sides of life in this part of Second Century Scotland.

A fascinating couple of hours and great fun.
