Challenges Accepted

I went to bed at Sensible O' Clock last night.  I thought i could read for a bit, warm up my feet (always the last part of me to get warm) and then drift off into sleep and...

My brain however was worried about stuff - I thought it was a good idea to keep waking me up like "Oh - I hope you don't sleep in, here's some adrenaline..."

And so it was quite a disturbed night.

But I got up, got through the getting ready for work palaver and out the door at exactly the time I wanted...

First day back was very gentle.  I'm only working 4 hours a day this week.  And so I looked at my E-Mail mountain and decided that it can wait until later in the week.

I said hello to lots of colleagues.  i drank tea.  I solved a couple of quick Host problems.  And i went over to another building to say hello to the team I was working with before I got ill.

I had a real fear of this building.  Glass elevators, glass sided walkways, huge atrium.  It used to really freak me out.

Today I took the glass elevator up to the 7th floor.  I walked across the glass sided walkway from one side of the building to the other and i took the glass elevator back down.  This Blip was a quick clandestine Foto from up on the 7th floor.  We shouldn't take pictures inside of our buildings but as you can't see anything important, I think it's OK.

*It is a truth universally acknowledged that one should never have to rely on ESWE as part of one's plans to be anywhere on time.  Especially when it's pouring with rain.

I decided I wanted to use the one bus plan to get to work rather than my usual 2.  So it was a bit of a p1sser to see the  bus I wanted drive past my bus stop when I was about 100 yards away...  It's really helpful when the bus is 5 minutes early.  I'm just not sure who for.

That meant a 15 minute wait for the back up bus.  Which was... late.

But I got the bus and it's only 20 minutes later than planned, that means I'll only be 20 minutes later in the office?

No. It doesn't work like that.  It doesn't work.  I was just under an hour later.

The ONLY time this company exceeds customer expectations is in the negative sense.  I expect them to be sh1t, but I never expect them to be as sh1t as they manage.

I will be 5 minutes early at the bus-stop tomorrow, I expect the bus to be 15 minutes late.
