Orca

Was delighted to get two looks at one of the pods of orca that frequent the Shetland mainland today.

The '64s' pod (the big male in one of the extras is 'Busta') came down the east side of Shetland then looped round the south end before heading back up the west coast. Was particularly pleased to get a good look at the calf in the pod - I'm told that the 'mum' in the main picture is 'Razor', and the calf was born last winter.

The pictures were taken from Sumburgh Head at about 12:20.  By 14:45 I was watching the same pod in close to the south beach at St Ninian's Isle.
