Still

I met up with other retired gentlemen for a trip down to the Borders Distillery in Hawick.  It is a new venture badly needed in a town hit hard with the demise of textile factories.  The distillery is housed in a tastefully renovated building which used to house the Hawick Electric Company.  Light flooded in from the roof windows and bounced off the gleaming copper stills.  Loved the colours and the textures.

We were unable to taste the whisky.  The distillery was commissioned in March this year - it will take some years before the product finds it way into a bottle.
