Canongate Kirk

Walking up the Royal Mile tonight I was struck by this unusual image not just because of the Christmas lights in the trees but also because one of the street lights opposite the Kirk was out, creating a greater contrast - and more darkness - than you usually see at this attractive and very historic spot.
