Perfect Timing

Off on our travels again tomorrow so on the to-do list for today: check & top up the boiler. Welcome to plonkerland. The inlet control stuck wide open, the boiler pressure rocketed, yours truly was not calmness personified. End result? The water intake is switched off, the control is still stuck and I'm scared to force it, the pressure rockets even higher when the heating is switched on, a seal has decided it's had enough, water is being collected in the big orange bucket. First available gas engineer is next Thursday which is as much use as a chocolate teapot. I have a cunning short-term plan. The longer term plan involves someone coming up to empty the bucket!
Still worried about the gales forecast for tomorrow morning and just hoping we manage to get away before they hit!
