Dolly and the woodcock

Got a call from Hessilhead to go and pick up an injured oystercatcher this evening, it was not an oystercatcher. This handsome chap is only the second woodcock I've ever seen, the first was one we collected a couple of weeks ago. Apparently they get a bit dazzled by the lights after their long migration and crash into things. Unfortunately this poor fellow had been grabbed by something, probably a cat, as he was missing some feathers and had some blood on his beak. Hessilhead thought he should be okay though, he just needs a bit of time to recuperate and regrow his missing flight feathers.
