Immortalised

Bailey scrutinising the decorations as a blip has been usurped in favour of a new, permanent decoration. It arrived today and has been a long time coming: the artist first loved from about 10 years ago with various cards and prints bought since; a photograph taken two summers ago and some money gifted which allowed me to commission a painting. It took me a while to get around to making the enquiry and then another while for there to be a window of opportunity. 

There has been some artistic licence taken with turning South Stacks all- white lighthouse into the red and white stripes of Longstone Lighthouse on the Farne Islands. And there was a suggestion of adding a puffin in to give Bailey something to look at but it is much more appropriate that Bailey isn't looking where he is supposed to be. I am so pleased with it. An early Christmas present - to myself!
