Dennis Lewendon Adams

D and I have been up in Cumbria for Dennis’s funeral. This morning, we made our way over to Lanercost Priory. It was a packed church which was good to see, including Dennis and Jean’s 4 children, their partners and their 11 grandchildren, some of whom carried the coffin. As funerals go, it was one of the best I’ve been to. Two family members gave interesting and humorous eulogies, beautiful singing by Victoria, there were 3 hymns and a warm address from the vicar.

They had put on a lot of food in the hall next door and Helen smuggled in a bottle of sherry which warmed us all up. Before we knew it, it was time to hit the road again. Our trip up north was over in a flash.
We’re nearly home now, just stopped for a coffee on the A1 and only about an hour or so to go, hopefully.
