Newport Castle

This castle is in the centre of Newport City bordering the River Usk. It dates from the 14th century and was built to control the river. A bit of a ruin now it was designated a World Heritage Site in 1951.

It is now bordered by a busy roundabout inside of which are pedestrian crossings surrounded by beautiful murals.
