A bit of myself

Literally. Went in today for my first plasma/platelet donation. I enjoy donating whole blood, but something always seemed wrong about a machine pulling blood out of me, sending it through a centrifuge, and then pumping the remainder back. It's the pumping back part that I never liked. However, after seeing the procedure, I'm much more comfortable with the idea. It IS kind of fun watching your blood pump through a contraption and then back. Plus the anti-coagulant making my mouth taste metallic and my lips tingle was a new and interesting experience.

Hopefully my platelets will help a cancer patient rebuild his/her immune system.
