Wind, rain and starlings

Just after lunch we noticed dozens of starlings had descended onto the lawn and were busy pecking away, presumably finding some insect or grub in the grass which was to their liking. Then along came a cat and they all flew to the bird feeders to fight over the fat balls until a magpie fly overhead and they fled up into the safety of the foliage.

We are grateful to be inside with the central heating working.
