Give & Take

I know some seek
to have you up
before the Beak
for squirrelling away
what they consider
to be theirs
(not yours!)
and that there would be
massive applause
(or at least lots of chirruping
and flapping of wings)
if you ended up
behind bars
but I believe
you deserve a break
(it’s not as if
you’re a terrible
human being).
It’s nearly Christmas:
there’s always room
for a bit of give
and take.
