Well, in the absence of Sophie and not having taken a photo all day, I have fallen back on the Emergency Christmas Tree Lights Blip, involving a long shutter speed and zoom lens twiddling.

In my defence, it's been a busy day: chopping kindling, writing Christmas cards, shopping, cooking a curry, watching the Liverpool v Man U game at Chris's and drinking the rest of the bottle of Guiness that Tess didn't put in the Christmas cake she's been making.
