Grand Western Canal

I was out with the walking group today.  We were very lucky with the weather and had a lovely start to the walk as the mist was slowly rising around us as we started walking.  We were walking along the Grand Western Canal, an 11 mile walk to Tiverton where it ends.  The canal was planned to link the Bristol Channel with the coast on the south west but this never got completed due to the development of the railway.

Anyway it was a lovely flat walk and we saw several herons and one kingfisher that flew ahead of us for awhile.

We are all off the the walking groups Christmas meal tonight so I am typing this while the nail varnish dries on my nails.
