Victorian Christmas 3

'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;   ("A Visit from St. Nicholas" by Clement Clarke Moore)

... all apart from the Daughter of the House who had sneaked downstairs to look at the decorated Christmas tree.  The Maid hadn't got around to snuffing the candles out yet, so it was all lit up. Even better, a heap intriguing parcels had appeared under the tree. She could see a doll's house ("I'm too old for one of those" she thought), but another one with her name on it caught her eye, and she quickly unwrapped it to discover a vanity case ("Much more like it!" she thought).

She then remembered Father saying that the family would sit down together after their Christmas dinner and exchange gifts. Perhaps she shouldn't have opened it? Maybe she could wrap it up again? Maybe not ... umm ... she would have to think on it!

Christmas has finally arrived in my 1/12th scale Doll's House. The cheap, battery driven micro lights, which have appeared in the shops over the last few years, make wonderful candles, which was a good job really as I couldn't get the main house lights to work!  The other problem is I need to tidy up the mess made in my living room ready for my own festivities!

With thanks to Freyjad for hosting Tiny Tuesday, the no theme / festive theme allow me to enjoy making this mini series of images representing the lead up to Christmas.  Links to other images below:
