Corrosive action

I've reached the next stage in my great crested newt print - 'painting' with a corrosive agent to etch some texture into the block. It will take an hour or so to do its work, then I will wash the acid off and dry the block for a couple of hours before  printing the second colour. This is one of my favourite techniques perhaps because of its capriciousness. If the acid mix is too strong, or left on the block too long, it will eat right through the surface and destroy the block. Equally, if the mix is too weak, or washed off too soon, it won't have the desired effect. Everything now depends on judging the Goldilocks moment.
