Floods and tears

Had a physio appointment at the hospital this morning so popped across the road to have a look at the Lón Mór, my favourite flood plain, which I know I've Blipped before.

There have been many serious floods in Oban over the years, the last one not long ago, on what was once a loch but is now a supermarket car park. One poor man was flooded out yet again. Consultants suggest that a lot of the water could be stored here at the Lón Mór, the headwaters of the Black Lynn, and released downstream when the tide is out in the bay. This picture shows the gradual encroachment of new houses - will the council never learn! Some investigation required here, I think!
