They're back

We were getting a bit concerned, as usually in the Autumn and Winter we have a garden full of Blackbirds eating the apples and in Spring and Summer we have had just a pair who have taken up their territory, nested and brought up several youngsters. The male would always be there on the wall in the morning waiting for Gordon to come back with the paper, as it knew he would be putting out food for them. And I would see the female every morning feeding from the window feeder.

Then they were gone and we missed them.

But we now seem to have new ones and they have at last found the apples. They look quite young to me and have not gained confidence in us as yet. Hence this is a picture taken through the kitchen window. Wouldn't it be great if this one was one of the offspring of our friends, taking over his parents' territory.
