Baby, it's cold outside

Today it snowed; the whole world ground to a halt, trains stopped running, humanity ran off to Another Planet. Oh, and to cap it all, the midday-first-Monday-of-the-month siren was tested.

Not really, well, the siren bit is true, and I have it on good authority that there were problems on the trains.
