Penny & Gran

Penny and Steve are back from China (see extra). Bit of a mission as they were due to land at 0530 at ..... Gatwick. And, as you may have heard Gatwick was shut due to worries about drone activity (I have my views about what to do to these people). (Luckily) they were diverted to Heathrow, which is not much further for us from Bookham. Thank goodness it wasnt Birmingham or  Paris or Amsterdam. But I was later picking them up as from Bookham Gatwick and Heathrow are in diametrically different directions. All good in the end. And a shower and breakfast restored spirits.

Then off to see Gran, who is still with us albeit still on IV antibiotics and fluids etc. We stayed about 3 hours. She was calm but anxious about stuff. Not helped by the lady with severe dementia in the next bed. Drank a fair bit of tea and ate part of an M&S strawberry mousse (5*) which I bought from the shop and a few spoons of some unidentifiable "yellow" puree (0*). 1 spoon of unidentifiable "orange" puree (o* "don't like that). We didn't even try the "brown" puree. Allegedly it was cheese and onion pie. Who knew?

It was hard. Penny in particular was upset by her Gran's condition. But good to have seen her. One day at a time.
