Dramas

We battle Saturday Christmas traffic to look for Claire’s phone at Cheryl’s before heading to the airport. Megan slams her thumb in the car door as I drop them off. Big ouch.

A first aider wraps it up in a huge bandage and tells us to get to A&E in London. So, from Stansted to Liverpool Street to UCH. Claire waits with her while Angus and I take the bags. And get some food.

Seven o’clock approaches. Megan has been X-rayed, but is waiting for a doctor in a room full of people, from all countries and cultures. She tells us to go.

To the Pinter Theatre for Pinter 6. Our ticket has been upgraded from the gods to the circle. This time it’s two short plays Party Time (dark, disturbing) and Celebration ( dark, hilarious) with a star-studded cast. Angus says it’s the best theatre he’s seen. It is very good.

Megan has had 4 stitches. Her thumb is now in a neat bandage and she’s hungry. Angus and I accompany her to a nearby Philadelphia-themed bar where she has an authentic eggplant parmigiano sandwich and we drink cans of PBL. We share a ricotta cheesecake and have another drink.
