Christmas Eve

After a morning indoors, I went for a short walk along to Bonnyfield Local Nature Reserve this afternoon and then back home via the Forth and Clyde Canal. It was cold!

While I was walking from the nature reserve up onto the canal I spotted this robin silhouetted on a fence-post and managed to get a couple of photos before he/she flew away, or so I thought.

I then walked a few more tentative steps along the path, hoping for the best and was delighted to see that the robin was no longer back-lit, hadn't actually flown off anywhere and was still sitting on the fence. A perfect little photo for Christmas Eve!
