Gate Post

The gnarled look on this gate post really appeals to me.  It's created by numerous layers of paint that are in various stages of decay and, in places, exposing the wood grain underneath.  I'm assuming the whole at the top right hand side at one time formed part of the gate fixing and it adds to the overall air of disrepair.
