Another Bloody Parking Blip

This is the recently-created Pay & Display parking zone on Inverleith Terrace. Notice anything? Congratulations if your answer was "there are no cars parked in that recently-created Pay & Display parking zone, Red."

In fact, as someone pointed out to me, there are so few parked cars, it looks like the 1970s. But you're actually looking at economics in action. The parking charges here are so astro-bloody-nomical that people are leaving their cars several streets away, where it's free to park, rather than pay.

All of this kind of defeats the object of the exercise - which, presumably, was to swell the coffers of Edinburgh Council. Unless, of course, the real objective was to make people get out of their cars and walk more...
