'Mum's Blipping Us!'

....so we go in to Big Kids routine!

It was Becky and Rob's last day before they left for London this evening in preparation for flying back to the US early tomorrow.  So the plan was to take a walk en route to dropping Becky back at Rob's parents for the first stage of their return.  Tony was in charge of route choice and came up with some alternatives in Nidderdale so we drove to Greenhow and parked up at Coldstones Cut.

The day had begun with some glimmer of brightness but, as we stepped out of the car, the wind rose and the low cloud arrived bringing mizzle with it.  We decided to still head up to the Cut to show the girls the view (?!) and then retraced our steps to take the path down in to the valley on a route which took in the old Prosperous Lead Mine workings.

Thankfully, once we had lost some height, the weather improved and the decision was taken that, once we reached the Lead Mine, Tony would retrace our steps and pick up the car, whilst we three would walk down the valley and back to Pateley Bridge.

I had just said, 'What a pretty valley' when we came upon a caravan site which sadly extended right down the valley to the main road, not the most enjoyable of walks on a tarmac road but it was good to be out and having a couple of hours in each other's company.  We met with Tony in Pateley Bridge and had some lunch, then it was time to drive on to York to leave Becky in the care of Rob and Mum and Dad.  Always tough to see them off......
