Applecross Bay

Today we celebrated Sandy’s birthday by taking a hike around the bay and up a glen into the hills behind Applecross. This is a typical view from the Bay across to Raasay and Skye. It was dry and we even had sunshine. Oh, and we spotted more deer just wandering about the village.

We took to the pub for a celebratory supper to discover there had already been some celebrations taking place - the owner had made the New Year Honours List, except, they weren’t ‘allowed’ to tell anyone until 10.30pm - it became the worst kept secret in Applecross but let’s just say everyone had a very merry evening.

To top it off Sandy got his guitar out and entertained everyone and got a sing along going with locals and fellow visitors alike. A birthday that was celebrated well and will be remembered for a long time. I’m also feeling much better - hurrah!
