Copacabana Ice-cream

Another quiet day in our little Rio world. We walked round the barrio in the morning and went to a little local place we know for breakfast that does a good fried egg roll.

We popped in to say 'until next time' to Fiona (blipper briocarioca), who's heading off to live in the UK after 40 years in Rio. She and R have been part of our lives here since we got our wee studio here and they've always been very welcoming.....sad to see them go. It will be strange knowing they aren’t just in the next street! For the last few years we've been at their house party on New Year’s Eve and then toasted the new year together on the beach. The good news though is that she's promised to start blipping again!

We went to a new place (for us) for dinner, chosen because it has live music on Friday nights and offered a different experience to most of our other favourites - inside, less bustly, just a few mins walk away and somehow seemed more São Paulo than Rio. We'd definitely go back....and hopefully there will be live music next time as the singer was off sick tonight!

The evening wouldn’t be complete without an ice-cream from our local place, happily two minutes from our front door and on our way home. I had cupuaçu and expresso coffee. Oh, and briocarioca and R introduced us to this place too!
